Vanity

Do you know there's a Magazine Called "Vanity Fair"

I mean today's society is already so wringed up on vanity and looks
(although people say personality is what counts HA)
That we have a magazine telling us what is "socially acceptable". I go to http://www.vanityfair.com/ to prove if my "judging the text by the cover" was a wrong thing to do

What am i given? Images of models and "attractive (by society standards)" People posing. Theres 50 YEARS OF TRENDS INSIDE THIS ISSUE! YAY! How exciting! A chance for people to see the Fashion the public has been thrown to wear as "the standard" for fifty years! YAY FOR OPRESSION OF APPEARANCE!

Cause when it comes down to it. Thats what it is. Another way of conformity. Another chance for people to tell others WHAT is right. A person wearing purple jeans and a red shirt

:O
HOLY SHIT
RUN FOR IT PEOPLE, they aren't dressing to what our "standards are"
:O

Subcosciosuly by listening to others "proffessionals" telling us what is right, is a way of comformity. People have told me to get hair cuts, people have told me wear things that "match". But why? By walking down the street with short hair that isn't scraggly or "nice" jeans and a "matching (by magazine standards)" shirt will i feel some sort of self fulfilment? Will the 120 DOLLARS i spent on PANTS make me sleep easier at night?
Of course this is my opinion but if you agree with me or call me a hypocrite, listen to yourself the next time you see a homeless person or a "goth" or an "emo"
Id love to see what your thinking/saying then
BE INDIVIDUAL

:D
